THE BOTTOM LINE MEANS A NET REVENUE FROM ALL SALES IS DONATED TO SPIRIT AID (EX VAT)

Spirit Aid has received help from one of our supporters who manufacture our "own brand" Toilet Rolls and Black Rubbish Sacks. All the set up and production costs have been covered by our sponsor.

TO RAISE £1,000,000 ALL WE HAVE TO DO IS ASK 34,000 COMPANIES TO BUY SPIRIT AID BRANDED TOILET ROLLS AND RUBBISH SACKS. Something most people have to purchase anyway, especially Toilet Rolls.

Spirit Aid is a Glasgow based humanitarian relief organisation dedicated to alleviating the suffering children, whose lives have been devastated by war, poverty, genocide, ethnic cleansing and all forms of abuse at home and abroad.

EVERY THREE SECONDS, SOMEWHERE IN THE WORLD, A CHILD DIES OF STARVATION .

The statement above is shocking and totally unacceptable, here is a fantastic way you can help to support the work of Spirit Aid and all you have to do is buy the paper and plastic goods you would be buying anyway.
Lets help to put an end to child poverty.

DOCUMENTARY FILM FESTIVAL (Glasgow)

Spirit Aid initiated an annual documentary film festival on Human Rights. Where we show independent films from all over the world giving voice to those that can not be heard and exposing human rights abuses.

Cape Town, Film Industry Township Fund. Cape Town is known as the "City of Hope". People of all races are learning to live together in peace, harmony and justice. In a couple of generations the people of South Africa will be showing the rest of the world how it is possible for us all to live and grow together without prejudice or hatred.
However, at the present time there is still a very brutal Economic Apartheid and the disparity in wealth is shocking.  For example, in the Township of Khayelitsha, the biggest shanty town in the city, there is an approximate population of 1 million people. Many families are child led due to parental deaths from aids/HIV and the girls (some very young) are forced into prostitution on the highways in order to support their siblings, bringing closer the risk of Aids to further devastate the family.

Christmas Hamper Appeal

At Christmas 2002, Spirit Aid initiated their annual Christmas Hamper Appeal, which provided over 400 people from the Drumchapel, Partick, Temple and Sighthill Communities with toys, food, sweets and clothes and delivered them as a surprise on Christmas Eve.
The appeal reached more families in 2003 and included a Christmas Party for 120 children from the multi-cultural community in Sighthill, as well as over 150 presents for children in the same area living in poverty.
At Christmas 2004 and 2005 they reached more and more families with bigger and better hampers. 'Santa' and David Hayman delivered them a few days before Christmas!

If you would like to become involved with the 2006 hamper appeal, please contact the Glasgow office.

Afghanistan, Children of the Rubble. Since 2002 Spirit Aid has been working in Baglan Province in N Eastern Afghanistan.  In the foothills of the Hindu Kush mountains the isolated villages contain a population of ½ million people.
The project was initially started by taking funds to the region and putting together medical teams of local doctors, nurses, paediatricians, dentists, pharmacists, drivers, interpreters and ambulances full of medicine.  Over a 2 year period, three month long trips were made, treating and examining approximately 10,000 people each trip. In the villages we visited, child mortality from disease has stopped or been dramatically reduced. Each Clinic Costs £6000 to set up and around £1000 a month running costs, looking after the welfare of about 20,000-30,000 people.

Sri Lanka, Children of the Tsunami. Between March and August last year, three Spirit Aid teams have spent a total of two months working in Sri Lanka.  On a daily basis, the teams delivered emergency supplies of food, medicine, bedding, cooking pots, mosquito nets and stoves. Spirit Aid has adopted the Lake School Orphanage in Hikkadua, which is home to 65 boys and have placed 2 Home Mothers in the Lake School to further improve the quality of life for these boys.

For further training opportunities, we are building 2 workshops; one for carpentry the other for metalwork. Training is also guaranteed in jewellery making for any boy that chooses.
