Every two seconds, somewhere in the world, a child dies of hunger and for every soldier killed in war, the lives of two children are taken.

Height: 3300 ft Distance: 7 miles Difficulty: Hard. Total Time: Allow between 5 - 6 hours, depending on your level of fitness. Navigation: The paths are well-walked and clear. Starting Point: Car park behind the Rowardennan Hotel Public Transport: From late June to early September there is a minibus service from Balmaha to Rowardennan. Check leaflets at the local Tourist Information Centre for times. Otherwise, there is no public transport, as far as I know.
This is a straightforward walk on clear paths up Scotland's most southerly Munro. From the summit, there are spectacular views to the north and east, and west to the Arrochar Alps.
Drive from Bearsden to Drymen on the A809, then to Balmaha on the B837, continuing on this road until you reach the car park just beyond the Rowardennan Hotel. This is a popular spot for picnics and for views of Loch Lomond and the mountains beyond.
The start point is at the wooded car park just beyond the Rowardennan hotel car park and climbs through the woods on a rather wet and slippery track to a gate. Once out of the trees Loch Lomond becomes increasingly visible behind you and with views opening up to the lowland hills in the south and southeast. The views to the north and west become increasingly spectacular with the unmissable outline of the Cobbler (Ben Arthur) apparent to the northwest at Arrochar. The path veers left round the corrie Coire Corrach and up to the Sron Aonaich ridge The path zig zags and drops suddenly a couple of times towards the end of the walk.
Accommodation Bringing your own tent offers the biggest choice where to spend the night. There are several official campsites with facilities along the Way. Camping anywhere else along the Way is not allowed except of the officially designated sites. In the busy summer season, it's also advisable to book your accommodation ahead.
The Rowardennan Hotel will provide a complementary mini bus to transport people from the Hotel to Balmaha and back (no need to take your car!)
